A Jane App alternative for outpatient physical therapy and rehab.
Jane is a well-established practice management system. ArkCloud Rehab is built around a different centre of gravity: the referral, the episode of care, the authorization and the claim, on one record. This page compares the two fairly, says where Jane is the better choice, and links every statement about Jane to the page we read it on.
The short version
Jane is a broad clinic management platform. Its features page covers scheduling, online booking, intake forms, charting, telehealth, payments and insurance billing. Jane says it is “trusted by more than 250K+ private health practitioners”.
ArkCloud Rehab is narrower and deeper in a different place. It is designed for therapy organisations where the hard problems are getting a referral into care, keeping authorizations and documentation in step with billing, and treating outcome-measure content with the same discipline as clinical data. If your clinic runs mostly on self-pay visits booked online, read the next section first.
When Jane is the better choice
We would rather you chose correctly than chose us. Jane is likely the better fit if any of these matter most:
- New patients book themselves online. Jane lists 24/7 self-booking (online booking). ArkCloud Rehab does not let a patient book a new appointment yet; existing patients can only move an appointment from their reminder link, where the practice enables it.
- You run video visits. Jane states that 1:1 telehealth is included at no extra cost, with group video as an add-on (telehealth). ArkCloud does not provide video.
- You want AI-drafted notes. Jane offers AI Scribe (pricing). ArkCloud does not generate clinical documentation.
- You want card payments built into booking. Jane describes collecting a card at booking for pre-payment, late-cancellation and no-show protection (online booking). Ask us what payment processing looks like for your practice before assuming ArkCloud matches it.
- You want an established product with a large user base. By Jane’s own figure above, it has one. ArkCloud Health publishes no comparable figure.
When ArkCloud fits
ArkCloud Rehab is worth a close look when your clinic bills insurance, works from referrals and authorizations, and needs the clinical and financial record to agree. Each point below is shown only while the capability behind it is live, and is listed with its current state on the ArkCloud Rehab product page.
Referrals become episodes of care in one step
A referral is recorded, triaged and accepted, and accepting it creates or links the patient record and opens the episode of care, so nothing is retyped between the referral and the first visit.
Authorizations and billing read the same records
Authorizations are tracked against what the payer granted and what is left. A delivered service is held out of billing, with a stated reason, until its documentation and authorization exist. Paired with ArkCloud RCM, those charges go out as X12 837 claims and remittances come back as 835s.
Episodes, plans of care and signed notes
Each course of care has an enforced lifecycle and a treatment plan with goals and review cycles. A signed note cannot be edited; an amendment needs a reason and preserves the previous text verbatim.
Outcome measures under governance
Outcome-measure content carries its source and licensing position, passes a four-eyes review and is published as an immutable version. Scoring and interpretation activate only per measure as approved definitions are published, and the product page shows their current state.
Schedule reporting you can trust
Visits held, missed and cancelled, and utilisation of declared availability, computed over resolved appointments so the numbers do not drift as future visits are booked.

Feature comparison
Only features both sides can be checked on are listed. Jane’s column is what Jane’s own pages said on 2026-10-01; ArkCloud’s column is read live from the product’s capability registry each time this page loads. Anything not listed here, check with Jane and ask us.

Switching from Jane
There is no automated Jane import in ArkCloud Rehab today, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you are weighing a switch, talk to us before you commit: choose “Integrations and data migration” as the enquiry type and tell us what you need to bring across.
